I would like to take this opportunity to inform about an exciting new feature added to our website.  A forum has been setup that will give members an easy way to communicate with each other.  The forum with consist of the following sections:

The join the forum register now!  You must be a current member of the Roanoke Rifle and Revolver club and members will be confirmed before the account is approved.

I know it is difficult to make time to attend the monthly Board Meetings so we have added a forum titled ‘Ask the Board’ for all the questions you would like answers to!  There is also a trading post section where you can post items for sale or that you are interested in finding.

Take the time to join and get involved with your club!

The first will be held on March 3rd & 4th and the second will be held on May 5th & 6th at Roanoke Rifle & Revolver Club.  This class will run from9:00 AM until5 PM on Saturday and from9:00 AM until4 PM on Sunday and includes range time on both days.

This 15 hour class is for both the beginner and the experienced shooter, and satisfies the requirements by the state of Virginia for a concealed carry permit.  The beginner shooter will learn the basics as presented by the NRA including safety, marksmanship, nomenclature, cleaning, shooting sports, and more.  The experienced shooter will review basic skills to improve marksmanship, correct problems in marksmanship, or you can introduce a new shooter to the sport by attending the class together.  The concealed carry part of this class covers “The Five Rules for Concealed Carry,” where to carry and where NOT to carry, the three A’s, what type of handgun you are best suited to carry, types of carry holsters, how to get your permit, plus more range time giving you an opportunity to shoot a variety of handguns that may help you decide what is best for you.

Pre-registration is required.  A $20 deposit is needed before the class to secure your enrollment, and to ensure that enough materials and ammunition are available for you.

The cost for this class is $120 and includes handguns and ammunition, if you do not have your own.  For additional information or to register for this class, please call Rod Carter or Beth Christopoulos on 540 989-1776.

Remember that All Existing Hunting Permits Expired on February 1st of 2012.
If you wish to hunt on Club Property You MUST attend a Hunter Orientation on one of the two dates. New paperwork and permits will be issued at that time. More to follow in the “Firing Line” March issue.
