From the Desk of Our President, Charlie Coulter

It is beginning to look like we may actually be drying out, but a real spring and mild temperatures has been nice.  One thing the heavy rains have proven that the majority of our water drainage and diversion projects have worked.  Many thanks to all those who helped in the planning and construction of those projects.

Our next range improvement will be to replace several of the storage sheds including the cardboard and target storage shed on C range as well as a building to store our tractor and other tools.  The cost of these buildings will be greatly reduced by an anonymous donation.  As always, thanks to Jim Sharrow for helping to stretch our dollars.

The board wishes to remind members that we welcome their attendance at our monthly meetings.  We would ask that any member who wishes to bring a matter before the board for consideration simply contact Jim Sharrow and ask that the subject be added to the upcoming agenda.

One last thing is the difficulty that we are having in finding.22 ammo for our youth safety classes.  If anyone comes across.22 ammo at a reasonable cost, please notify Harvey Bulaski or any board member.

 Meet, Eat, and a Little Bit of Skeet

Ladies and gentlemen, come join us Friday, June7th up on the hill for a bit of clays shooting, fellowship, and food.  Good times are bound to be had, or at the very least, some free food to fill your belly.  Hotdogs, chips, and cold drinks will be provided free of charge, on a first come, first served basis.  The grill will be fired up promptly at 6:00 p.m., so come on out and enjoy a relaxing early summer evening with your friends and fellow members.

While the food is free, normal charges apply for a round of clays.  Please shoot me an e-mail at John3-16@cox.net  if you plan to attend so we can ensure we have enough food to go around.  In the event of rain, or lack of interest, we will post a cancellation notice on our website.  Hope to see you there-The Clays Crew!

Class Details

• Classes run from 8:45AM until 4:00PM.
• Basic knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for owning and using a pistol safely
• Class meets concealed carry permit prerequisite
• Efficient, effective handgun training
• Learn about pistol parts and operation, ammunition, gun safety and shooting fundamentals
• Engaging, informative and entertaining
• Two female NRA certified instructors on staff
• Pistols, ammunition and targets provided
• Women encouraged to enroll

The new skeet shack is close to completion and we are looking for a few members to put on the last coat of paint.

This will be done on a Saturday, and will likely provide you an opportunity to get a large portion of your hours in one day.

We would prefer individuals with some painting experience, however, if you are comfortable with a roller and a 3 inch brush you shouldn’t have any problems.

As always, these positions will be filled on a first come, first served basis, so if you have any interest in participating please contact me at your earliest convenience.

MAIN EVENT SCORE SHOOT 

ALL SHOOTING FROM BENCH 

ENTRY FEE   $ 20 PER GUN 
$10 FROM ENTRY FEE WILL BE FOR PRIZES. ENTER UP TO THREE DIFFERENT GUNS

ALL GUNS will shoot 5 – 2.5” ( 60mm) clays at 330 yds.  5-3.5” ( 90mm) clays at 425 yds. and  5-4.5” clays at 500 yds.  With 20 rounds only NO SIGHTERS, All in one setting, 10 min time limit. Shooters can shoot targets in any order. Auto tie breakes are by yardage. 

CLASSES

BENCREST GUNS 

 Benchrest – anything goes, 30 lb limit, No rail guns 

HUNTING / TACTICAL GUNS .   

Hunting / Tactical guns are guns that are rebarreled, restocked with Hunting or Tactical stock  muzzle brakes and ,most anything goes, But,  No benchrest stocks or plates added to stock with a rest. All good if you shoot from a Bi-pod 20 lb limit
 
PURE FACTORY GUNS 

Pure Factory class – Trigger job or replacement, and bedding only.  I would rather allow a replacement, due to some factory guns have adjustable triggers, and to keep from a bad trigger from showing up at the match.  If you have a brake or plate added to the stock, it can be removed. No factory custom ex 40X, Cooper.
